I know I am not alone.

Everyone sees me as the happy-go-lucky red head that never frowns.  What people don't see is the self-hate hiding behind my eyes.

I'm working on it, I really am.  But how are you supposed to change something that you fundamentally believe?  It isn't as easy or quick as changing your shirt.

Where do you even start?  By telling yourself that you are wrong?  That you are beautiful and a good human being. Even saying those words sometimes feels like a lie.

I need a 5 step process.  They need to write a book called "Gaining Self-Confidence in 5 Easy Steps."  But it's not that simple.

The only thing that helps me go on is knowing that there are people that care and that other people are going through similar things.  I am not alone.

    You Matter

This is a safe environment for you to share you story and receive support from others.  Please e-mail me under the 'Contact' tab; your thoughts, a title, and a signature, and I will publish them.  (It is reviewed by me to make sure inappropriate language is not used.)  After that, anyone can comment and share.  You are not alone; suicidal thoughts and mental illness can strike anyone at anytime.  Saying suicide and mental illness brings conversations to an end, but using the word is not the problem, it is the silence that follows.
