Shel Silverstein, Everything on It
VisionI strive to create a safe environment where individuals can be their true, authentic self by being vulnerable through the sharing of their story to those around them in hopes to build an inclusive community full of personal and lasting connections. I want to empower people to feel confident in themselves and their beliefs.

Mental illness can strike anyone! It knows no age limits, economic status, race, creed or color. On a local level, suicide is beginning to have a great impact on those entering adulthood.
The moment we see someone, we immediately put them in a box or group them into categories. Then they feel like to fit in with society they have to be that person. This idea stemmed from Shel Silverstein's poem Masks. This is what was went off of for this project. When folks get dressed in the mornings they also put on their masks of how they want others to see them and how they think others want to see them. This causes a person to have an external persona as well as an internal. People expressed how they present themselves to others on the external side of the mask, and how their “true feelings” on the inside of the mask. |
