These masks were filled out anonymously by people in many different settings. They are representative of the emotions, thoughts, and feelings that people suppress and hide from society because of the persona they are told to display. They are symbolic of an individual and their core identity. The top photograph is the front of the mask and represents how the individual acts in order to fit in and not stand out. The bottom photograph is the back of the mask and represents the personal characteristics that the individual feels they cannot express openly without being judged or targeted.
